International Day of Peace- September 21, 2020
Posted on 09/22/2020
The International Day of Peace, sometimes officially known as World Peace Day, is a United Nations-sanctioned holiday observed annually on 21 September. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace. This is a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace.
At IMS we celebrate the International Day of Peace by wearing white and honoring what peace means to each of us. This year we discussed how to "Shape Peace Together." Students shared their thoughts on how to show and grow peace in our world.
Kindergarten students shared their thinking!
- Peace is a "piece of cake"
- Peace is quiet
- Peace is reading books
- Peace is playing games together
Happy International Day of Peace! Let's continue to share, show, and grow peace.... because at IMS we are global citizens!!
